Encore Medical Education, LLC (referred to in this policy as “we”, “our”, and “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy of information provided by and about the users of our Websites (encoremeded.com, bestofsabcs.com, breastcancerpro.com, bestofidfindia.org, credoevents.org, revolucionglp1gip.com, revolucaodogip.com.br) and other sites that Encore may produce after April 24, 2025 (collectively, the “Site”).
To comply with data privacy protection laws in the European Union (the “GDPR”) as well as statutes in California and in the United States generally, we have written this Privacy Policy (“Policy”) to describe, among other things, what information we may collect about you, what uses we may make of it and why, with whom we share it, your rights in relation to your information, how you can contact us, and what precautions we take against unauthorized access or use of your information.
This Policy applies only to information that identifies you or is capable of doing so when taken with other data available to us (“Personal Information”) and that you either submit to Encore in connection with your use of the Encore Websites or upon registration related to educational programs (both online and in person) conducted by Encore.
In using the Encore Websites and/or receiving our services, you acknowledge that you have read and you understand this Policy. Please read this Policy carefully before using the Site or submitting Personal Information to us. This Policy is incorporated into and subject to the Terms of Use.
This Policy does not apply to any Personal Information that you submit directly to third-party web sites or entities other than Encore even when such sites or entities are accessible from an Encore Site. You are advised to read the privacy policy of any other web site that you visit via an Encore Site by clicking or any other link on an Encore Site. We are not responsible for how other web sites or the entities that operate them treat your privacy or information. We encourage you to read the privacy statements and terms of use of linked or referenced web sites.
Except as otherwise noted in this Policy, Encore Medical Education, with offices at 1937 Cedardale Ave, Baton Rouge, LA 70808, U.S., is the data controller (as that term is used under the EU General Data Protection Regulation), which means that we decide how and for what purposes your Personal Information is processed.
How do we collect your data?
If you visit an Encore Website for any purpose, including viewing videos or information through or on the Site or you fill out an evaluation form of a medical education event you either attended in person or accessed through the internet, you will transfer certain personal data to us.
What data do we collect?
We may, from time to time, collect information from you, including the following: Personal Data Personal identification information, such as your name, address, email address, telephone number, and demographic information that you voluntarily give to us when you choose to access or exchange information on the Site. You are under no obligation to provide us with personal information of any kind, but your refusal to do so may prevent you from using certain features of the Site.
Derivative Data. Information our servers automatically collect when you access the Site, such as your IP address, your browser type, your operating system, your access times, and the pages you have viewed directly before and after accessing the Site.
Financial Data. Financial information, such as data related to a payment method (e.g. valid credit card number, card brand, expiration date) that we may collect if you purchase any services from us or through the Site. All financial information you may have provided online to a third party in order to access services on our Site is governed by that third party’s privacy policy. You are encouraged to review that third party’s privacy policy and contact them directly for responses to your questions regarding privacy of your financial data.
Data from Social Networks. User information from social networking sites, such as Facebook, Google+, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, including your name, your social network username, location, gender, birth date, email address, profile picture, and public data for contacts, if we link the Site and you connect your account to such social networks.
PLEASE NOTE: We do not currently link the Site to or obtain information from those social networks.
Mobile Device Data. If you access the Site from a mobile device, device information, such as your mobile device ID, model, and manufacturer, and information about the location of your device.
Third-Party Data. Information from third parties, such as personal information or network contacts, if you connect your account to the third party and grant the Site permission to access this information.
Data from Surveys or Evaluations. Personal and other information you may provide to us, either on the Site or through a third party’s request that you respond to surveys or evaluations.
How will we use your data?
In general, we will use the Personal Information we collect only for the purpose it was collected, for compatible purposes, as permitted or required by law, as necessary to carry out our contractual duties and obligations, and as otherwise provided in this Policy. For example, we may use your Personal Information in the following ways:
• To respond to your requests for information relating to our products and services.
• To process and manage your registration and account.
• To process payments and refunds.
• To maintain and update our records.
• To track your usage of our products and services.
• For helping you receive accreditation.
• For assessing outcomes measurements from educational programs.
• For applying for, receiving and reconciling grants.
• To communicate with you. We will send you messages about the availability of our Site, security, or other service-related issues. You may change your communication preferences at any time. Please be aware that you cannot opt-out of receiving service messages from us, including security and legal notices.
• For our research and development efforts. We use data, including public feedback, to conduct research and for the development of the Site and the services and products we provide to you.
• For other everyday business purposes. By way of example, payment processing and financial account management, product development, contract management, IT and website administration, security, fulfillment, analytics, fraud prevention, corporate governance, reporting and legal compliance.
• To provide you with the products and/or services you have purchased or requested.
• To ensure your information is accurate and to personalize our products and services.
• For monitoring and assessing compliance with our policies and standards.
• To contact you about the services and products we offer (where we have received your consent to do so or we believe that you may be interested in the material as it relates to similar products or services you have previously acquired, or indicated your interest in acquiring, from us and have not opted out). • As otherwise permitted or required by any applicable law or regulation.
We will only disclose or share your Personal Information as detailed below. We may send you promotional or informational messages by email, fax, or text messaging, for products or services similar to those you have previously acquired, or with your consent.
We may also use aggregate data about users for program and/or product use analysis, program development, and site improvement. We may also use it for market analysis and provide information from our Web sites in aggregate form, with identifying information removed to third parties. For example, we may tell a grant funder what percentage of our registered users reside in a particular geographical area or their practice specialty. Depending on our agreements with third parties, we may or may not charge for this information.
By Law or to Protect Rights If we believe the release of information about you is necessary to respond to legal process, to investigate or remedy potential violations of our policies, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of others, we may share your information as permitted or required by any applicable law, rule, or regulation. This includes exchanging information with other entities for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
To Third-Party Service Providers. We may share your information with third parties that perform services for us or on our behalf, including accrediting bodies, grant funders, outcomes measurement companies, and other parties that provide a variety of medical education and communications services including but not limited to: payment processing, data analysis, email delivery, hosting services, customer service, and marketing assistance.
For Marketing Communications. With your consent, or with an opportunity for you to withdraw consent, we may share your information with third parties for marketing purposes, as permitted by law.
For Interactions with Other Users. If you interact with other users of the Site, those users may see your name, profile photo, and descriptions of your activity, including sending invitations to other users, chatting with other users, liking posts, following blogs.
Due to Your Online Postings. When you post comments, contributions or other content to the Site, your posts may be viewed by all users and may be publicly distributed outside the Site in perpetuity.
To Our Business Partners. We may share your information with our business partners to offer you certain products, services or promotions.
To Other Third Parties. We may share your information with investors for the purpose of conducting general business analysis. We may also share your information with such third parties for marketing purposes, as permitted by law.
In Connection with Our Sale or Bankruptcy. If we reorganize or sell all or a portion of our assets, undergo a merger, or are acquired by another entity, we may transfer your information to the successor entity. If we go out of business or enter bankruptcy, your information would be an asset transferred or acquired by a third party. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that the transferee may decline to honor commitments we made in this Privacy Policy.
How do third parties handle my data?
The Site may contain links to third-party websites and applications which we believe may be of interest, that are not affiliated with us. Once you have used these links to leave the Site, any information you provide to these third parties is not covered by this Privacy Policy, and we cannot guarantee the safety and privacy of your information. Before visiting and providing any information to any third-party websites, you should inform yourself of the privacy policies and practices (if any) of the third party responsible for that website, and should take those steps necessary to, in your discretion, protect the privacy of your information. We are not responsible for the content or privacy and security practices and policies of any third parties, including other sites, services or applications that may be linked to or from the Site. We are not responsible for the actions of third parties with whom you share personal or sensitive data, and we have no authority to manage or control third-party solicitations. If you no longer wish to receive correspondence, emails or other communications from third parties, you are responsible for contacting the third party directly.
How do we store your data?
We use reasonable precautions, including appropriate technical, administrative, and physical procedures, designed to protect your personal data from loss, misuse, or alteration. If we contract with other companies to provide us with services, we will require them likewise to use reasonable safeguards to protect your personal data. However, we are not responsible for any breach of security or for the actions of these parties. Due to the design of the internet and other factors outside our control, we cannot guarantee that communication between you and our servers will be free from unauthorized access by third parties. If there is a breach of security of which we become aware, we will do everything we can to minimize the breach and stop any use of information which may have been obtained. Our principal offices are in the United States, and we will not transfer your data to anyone outside of the United States other than to our employees who may be located elsewhere.
We will keep the information you provide to us for a period not exceeding five (5) years. Once this time period has expired, we will delete your data by using technological methods designed to destroy the information permanently.
PLEASE NOTE: While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse. Any information disclosed online is vulnerable to interception and misuse by unauthorized parties. Therefore, we cannot guarantee complete security if you provide personal information.
How do we get information from you when you browse the Site?
Cookies and Web Beacons. We may use cookies, web beacons, tracking pixels, and other tracking technologies on the Site to help customize the Site and improve your experience. Cookies are files created by sites you visit. They make your online experience easier by saving browsing information. Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. You can set your browser to reject cookies or to notify you each time a cookie is tendered, permitting you to accept or decline cookies on an individual basis, but be aware that such action could affect the availability and functionality of the Site. Website Analytics We may partner with selected third-party vendors, such as Google Analytics and others, to allow tracking technologies and remarketing services on the Site through the use of both first-party and third-party cookies, to, among other things, analyze and track (in aggregate) your and other users’ use of the Site, determine the popularity of certain content, and better understand online activity.
By accessing the Site, you consent to the collection and use of your information by Google Analytics or other similar third-party vendors. You are encouraged to review their privacy policy and contact them directly for responses to your questions. We do not transfer personal information to these third-party vendors. We will not associate any data we gather through these vendors with your personally identifiable data unless required to do so to cooperate with law enforcement or other governmental request or to comply with law. if you do not want any information to be collected and used by tracking technologies, you can visit the third-party vendor directly or make use of the Network Advertising Initiative Opt-Out Tool or Digital Advertising Alliance Opt-Out Tool. Please be aware that getting a new computer, installing a new browser, upgrading an existing browser, or erasing or otherwise altering your browser’s cookies files may also clear certain opt-out cookies, plug-ins, or settings.
What if I specify “Do Not Track” in my web browser?
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems include a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. No uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Policy. Note to Users Outside of the United States
When your Personal Information is submitted through our Site, it may be stored on our servers in other jurisdictions, including the United States, which may not have similar data protection laws to the country in which you reside.
What rights do children have for protection of their data?
The Site is not directed to children as the products and services on the Site are intended for persons 18 years of age and older. Encore does not knowingly collect, use, or disclose any personal information from children. If you become aware of any data we have collected from children under 18 years of age, please contact us using the contact information provided below.
What is the effect of requesting that you remove my information from your database?
If you request that we terminate your account and/or remove your information from our active database, we will comply as soon as practicable. However, some of your information may still be retained in our files to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist in any investigations, enforce our terms of use, and/or comply with legal requirements including subpoenas. If you no longer wish to receive correspondence, emails or other communications from third parties, you are responsible for contacting the third party directly.
Individuals in the European Economic Area (“EEA”)
The following European Economic Area Addendum (“EEA Addendum”) applies solely to individuals who are located in the EEA (“Data Subjects”). This EEA Addendum describes our policies and practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information we collect about you when you access or use the Site. This EEA Addendum supplements and amends the information contained in the Site Policy with respect to data subjects in the EEA. Any terms defined within the European General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), including personal data/Personal Information, have the same meaning when utilized within this EEA Addendum. The other provisions of the Site Policy continue to apply except as modified in this EAA Addendum.
For purposes of applicable data protection laws, Encore is the data controller of Personal Information we collect through this Site. You may have certain additional rights, subject to limitations, regarding the processing of your Personal Information. These include the right to:

• Request the erasure of your Personal Information

We reserve the right to charge you a reasonable administrative fee for any manifestly unfounded or excessive requests concerning your access to your Personal Information and for any additional copies of the Personal Information you request from us.

If you reside in a country within the European Union, should you wish to report a complaint about our Privacy Policy or feel that we have not addressed your concern in a satisfactory manner, you may contact the EU Information Commissioner’s Office for your particular country. What if you are a resident of California?
California has enacted a data privacy law to protect its citizens known as “CalOPPA”. CalOPPA requires commercial websites and online services to post a privacy policy such as this one, which states the information being collected and those individuals or companies with whom it is being shared. In accordance with CalOPPA, in addition to all of the other protections we have outlined in this Privacy Policy, we promise that users can visit the Site anonymously, and that we will add a link to this Privacy Policy, labeled to include the word “Privacy”, on the Site’s home page.
